Yes, any steps in the collection that you've completed before the challenge started will count towards your score.

The leaderboard shows how many steps you have completed out of the total number of steps in the workflow.

Make sure you are logged in when completing your steps.

To view your challenge activity go to My Challenges link.

Update and save your "email for notifications" in your Versalist profile.
